The Edinburgh Building Retrofit and Improvement Collective (‘the Collective’) offers an independent intermediary to help connect you to collaborative groups of people wishing to improve their buildings together in Edinburgh. We believe that the hurdles to scaling up householder retrofit and other forms of building improvement are best overcome by aggregating work into larger contracts with community groups (indeed, we’re sometimes referred to as ‘EdinBRIC’, where the last four letters also stand for ‘Better Results In Communities’). A community could vary in size from flat owners on a tenement stair to a neighbourhood, to a group of people living in similar properties with a common need. Group working offers advantages to both sides.
